PERTH Blitz will look to claim a historic double this season with its women and juniors having advanced to the Gridiron West Westbowl.
Blitz were victorious in their respective semi-finals at Dorrien Gardens and now prepare for the grand final this Saturday in both the women and junior competitions.
Blitz?s women will play in Westbowl I after they ran over the top of the Saints, scoring three touchdowns and two two-point conversions, while conceding just one touchdown.
However, if they are to be crowned inaugural women?s champions they will have to do it without star linebacker Rhyanna Edbrooke, who suffered a knee injury and is unlikely to play.
The injury came late in the game, and the subsequent drive led to the Saints? only score for the game.
In next week?s decider, the Blitz come up against Perth Broncos who won its semi-final 14-6 over West Coast Wolverines.
The Blitz managed two touchdowns by the end of the game with both two-point attempts successful.
Throughout the first half, the Jets kept the Blitz?s power offence scoreless.
The shackles were broken in the third quarter after defensive back Sham Bol made an interception and ran 80 yards for a touchdown.
Blitz?s defence had a late scare after a touchdown by the Jets was disallowed due to a penalty, which would have set up for a thrilling finish.
The encounter next week against the Vipers will be the second grand final for both junior sides in as many years.
In the other semi-final, the Vipers despatched Westside Steelers 32-0.
Next Saturday, juniors kick off at 1.30pm and the women play at 3.30pm.
