Results – Round 13: One More Left

One more and we’re done for season 2014/15. It doesn’t seem so long ago at the beginning of October that we were kicking off but for the teams not playing in the finals, the old cliche of “pre-season starts tomorrow” applies.

Especially if you’re playing rugby or australian rules, pre-season has already started for them. You’d better get on it.

So without further adieu, here are the results:

Juniors

Jets 16 16 Blitz
Saints 6 20 Vipers
Broncos 0 22 Steelers

Seniors

Jets 0 20 Blitz
Saints 6 30 Vipers
Broncos 26 14 Steelers

These results bring about a few potential changes in the ladder but few actual ones. The Vipers aren’t going anywhere, with a bye this round and all their games played, no one can catch them in the seniors. In the Juniors, they can either finish second or third, depending on what the junior Blitz do against the Saints.

The Broncos, having pulled a result against the Steelers, can still make finals if they get a win over the Wolverines *and* if the Jets don’t lose (a win or draw should do it). Broncos hold the head-to-head results at 1-1 but are +6 on the points scored so have the edge.

The senior Blitz, with a win over the Saints on the weekend (and a big enough points haul to reverse the deficit, currently at 6 points) can slide up to second place and bump the Saints to third. Changing nothing for the Semi Finals, no matter the result. The junior Blitz still have the chance to finish top, a win over the Saints and either a win or a draw for the Jets would put them on top with a 1-1 head-to-head record with the Steelers but +2 on the points scored tally. Any points would see them secure second place, changing their Semi Finals opponent from the Vipers to the Wolverines/Jets.

The fourth place in both divisions is still up for grabs. As mentioned earlier with the Steelers/Broncos but also the Jets/Wolverines in the juniors. The Jets need the win, regardless, to give themselves a shot at the last place available but it’s a tenuous one, with the Wolverines facing the Broncos who’ve not managed a league point all season. Then again, stranger things have happened and the last round can always throw up some unexpected results.
