WA Raiders defeat Victoria Eagles

Saturday the 28th May the WA Raiders took on the Victoria Eagles in WA at Curtin University. The battle was on to remain in the running for the AGL title.

With Victoria suffering the loss to Queensland the week before, WA knew they had to win to keep their dreams of an AGL title alive.

The game started well with a long punt return from Brandt Honda getting tackled out of bounds inside the 5 yard line. On the very next play, Vincent Villicano ran the ball in for the first 6 points of the game.

The battle between the 2 sides continued until there was 5 minutes left in the game and the score was tied at 22-22. Thanks to the impressive pressure from the Raiders punt return unit, an Eagles punt from their 10 yard line was blocked and recovered in the end zone by Keith Eade, securing the Raiders 6 points and ensuring the win!

The end score was 30-22.

The WA Raiders travel to South Australia this weekend to take on the 0-3 SA Sharks. WA need to win this game to go into the last round undefeated against QLD.
